Turn On Midi Clock In Traktor Pro

FL Studio will not sync to an external MIDI clock. To control FL Studio from other MIDI software use the Rewire Client mode or host FL Studio as a VST plugin inside the host application. FL Studio will however send MIDI Clock sync so you can control the MIDI hardware using FL Studio as the master MIDI device, see the MIDI Output section. Dec 24, 2008  Ive really been having fun with Traktor Pro and the VCI since then. So if you have the Send Midi clock option checked in the Midi Setup, just uncheck it and see what happens. I am using FW 1.3 though and if you are using FW 1.0, or FW 1.2 it could be issues with the FW. But FW 1.3 works for me.

  1. Mar 11, 2017  Next, send MIDI clock from Traktor to Ableton by clicking on the Master Clock Section in the top left hand corner (marked by a Metronome symbol) and click the Auto button on. This means that Traktor's Master Clock will sync to the Deck that is playing. In the Send section on the right, click the blue Play button to send MIDI clock from Traktor.
  2. Jun 29, 2012  mine has turned on for some reason and now traktor is practically unusable as everything syncs to the master clock! Cheers for any one who can help! Jun 20, 2011. SirReal NI Product Owner Messages: 537. Engage the Auto button below the master button. This lets you use whatever deck is playing as your master clock.
ClockI dj using Traktor Pro 2 from Native Instruments (owned it long before I knew deckadance was a thing). I want to BPM/midi clock sync Traktor Pro 2 with Fl Studio to (1) run an instance of NI Maschine (synced with FL Studio/Traktor by way of Maschine's having been set up as a VST slave to FL and, therefore, a slave to Traktor) in FL Studio and (2) using FL Studio effects on incoming decks from traktor. In other words, can FL Studio be a slave to Traktor? If not, is there another way to do this without having to start making the Ableton Live switch?

If it's of concern to anyone, My laptop has 16G Ram and iCore7 and Windows 8 64bit, so it's able to handle quite a bit of processing.
Thanks a lot!
1) similar problems, maybe same solutions
2) I know what midi clock is. Ive used SMPTE, MTC, and Midi Beat Clock, (with real wires and analog tape machines for years) But now I use Rewire mostly all digital.
SSL has two unsynchronized clocks and SSL does not track beats. These present two separate problems for controlling external devices.
Sending a clock signal is easy, the external device would speed up and slow down fine. But it would not be 'on beat', you would need a synced start time. You could set up a 'start cue', place it on beat and it would tell the external device when to start. But because 'BPM' is only an approximation (even down to two decimals) you would find that the beats on the external device would drift after time. I guess this would be better then nothing, but you would continually have to disengage the midi lock and nudge the vinyl to get it back in sync. I doubt people would find this satisfactory. What would have to be done is some way of creating a Beat Map for each track. You would need a user defined start time, BPM as a guide then ether a 'fine tuning' or maybe automatic by reading transients. Then you would have a system that could send out Midi Beat Clock and perfect synchronization..
..BUT only from one deck. In order for an external device to maintain sync while transitioning from one deck to the other you would have to continually engage or define the new deck as the master. At this point you might as well auto sync them together since you have two 'beat mapped' tracks and are trying to sync them to keep them in time with an external device.
If you ask me, getting SSL to do this would be cumbersome and from the wrong end. Why not (dif Serato platform) start with a Master Clock and Beat Map, build around that?
OR- If you are going to sync anything, why not start with the two decks already in SSL before syncing an external device? Isnt that logical? Why have two unsynced internal devices synced to one external device???
