Hip hop artist T-Pain has been famous for using Auto-Tune to add that signature drunken-robot sound to his songs.
Smule has teamed up with T-Pain and Antares to develop the I am T-Pain iPhone app.
T-Pain had this to say about the iPhone app:

The iPhone app comes loaded with some of T-Pain's popular songs, which you can sing along to using the scrolling lyrics that are displayed on the iPhone. The iPhone app captures your voice from the iPhone’s microphone, does its bit and magically converts your voice into auto-tuned vocals.

You can buy premium tracks such as “Buy U a Drank”, Kayne West’s “Good Life” within the application.
The iPhone app also lets you save the recording and share them with your friends and family via email, Facebook or Myspace.

Some of you might think this is lame and might annoy those of you who aren’t happy about the frequent use of Auto-Tune technology in songs (Jay-Z has even expressed his views in a song: “Death to Auto-Tune”). But I really loved the concept and in my opinion, Smule has got another winner in its hands.
I am T-Pain costs $2.99, which I think is worth the price when you consider that a copy of Auto-Tune costs $400.
You can download I am T-Pain from the iPhone App Store using this iTunes link. You need an iPhone to use the app as there is no support for iPod Touch currently.
