Jul 06, 2014 There was a member on BITOG who tested auto-rx plus and showed before and after pics, he now calls the product AUTO-RX MINUS. I have been having a great time playing with my ZF of late. Really happy with the Hp Tuner product. It flashes 100% of the time and the trans tune flashes in my FG take less than 10sec, don't even have to do the turn on/off key thingo. Started off reducing the shift points on the cruise map so the car will happyly cruise at 1000rpm on a level road to making the trans shift into first every time on stop. Copied some tables from a FGx tune that soften the downshift into 1st when coming to a stop.
Have had the opportunity to disect a 'shop' tune, basically copy pasting tables one at a time to see what influence each modified table has on the trans. Modified the shop tune tables so that the trans shifts nicely on the 1>2 and 2>3 shift and wonder why they had it shifting so hard when it was so simple to soften up shift in the low load/low rpm part of the maps.
Once I finish my tune, I will be happy to post up.
Meanwhile if anyone has a shop tune they would like to share, please email me as I am interested to see the different tuning approaches (if any at all cos most/alot would of done the ZF tuning course) workshops take on their ZF tuning.
Also am looking for the so called 'FGx sprint' trans tune and
looking for stock FG and FGx V8 supercharged trans tunes.
It would be good to have the last two stock tunes up on the repository.
Jul 04, 2016 Hi! My Chevy Malibu (1999) has 95,000 miles on it. I plan to change the transmission liquid. A friend told me to pour a can of Auto-RX first, and then let it run 3000 miles to clean the system first before changing th.
Tuning is an important part of Nitro Nation, it allows a player to maximize their car’s performance and shave down precious seconds from their runs.
We have had a lot of feedback from players commenting that they were losing to opponents who had much lower horsepower cars than themselves.
Auto Rx Or Trans Tuners
Basic Tuning
In Nitro Nation tuning is unlocked after the 2nd career race of the 2nd stage and detailed tuning is unlocked after the 1st career race of the 3rd stage.
What is tuning? Without getting too heavy into math theory or engineering, we can simply say that the engine produces a certain amount of energy. Tuning represents the division or multiplication of this energy from the engine to the wheels, using gears.
Higher gear ratios will increase your car’s wheel torque (force) while lower gear ratios will increase your car’s top speed.
Sounds easy? now that we have some of the basics, let’s make our tune!
There are two ways to access the Tuning screen. By tapping on the Upgrade button on the main menu.
Or by tapping on the Upgrade button on the race results screen.
In the Upgrades screen tap on the Tune button
A pop-up will appear with the distances to set a test tune for.
We will go through setting a tune for the 1/8 mile.
Trans Rx Website
This is where the tuning takes place, here you adjust each of your gear ratios. Each gear affects the amount of top speed or wheel torque your car will have in this gear. Remember, A high number ratio (slider to the right), means more Torque but a lower top speed. A low number ratio (slider to the left) means a higher top speed and less torque.
You can use the slider bar or tap on the numbers to enter a specific ratio number.
Since the 1/8 mile is a rather short race, I will lower the gears. The Final gear is lowered from 3.730 to 3.189, the First gear is the same 3.500, the Second gear is lowered from 2.235 to 2.150, the Third gear is lowered from 1.520 to 1.550, the Fourth gear is lowered from 1.161 to 1.244, the Fifth gear is raised from 0.971 to 1.040 and the Sixth gear is raised from 0.818 to 0.904
Then tap the ‘Save’ tab and choose the preset to save your tune
(I will choose Preset 1/8 A) and tap the back button at the top left of the screen.
You will be prompted to save the tune in the selected preset. Tap yes
Then tap the back button at the top left of the screen to apply the tune to your car.
Keep experimenting and refining your tune until you get it just right. Each player’s tune is unique and to become a top tuner takes a lot of time, skill and practice!
Advanced Tuning
Here are a few tips to move beyond your basic tunes:
- Everyone has their own tuning technique, try starting tuning your first gear launch, then adjusting the next gears.
- Your goal is to get maximum torque and reach top speed in relation to your car’s tire grip, suspension, etc.
- Once you’ve created some good tunes, start to examine your torque and power curve to determine what your optimum power band is. In a 1/4 race you should be finishing in 3rd or 4rth gear.
- Depending on how wide or narrow the gap is between gear will have a big effect on your time.

Torque graph – The V8 in this M3 has a remarkably flat torque curve, and even with aftermarket parts the powerband I can use is fairly wide. This means that I can go for longer gears (lower ratios) and use a wider range of RPMs.

I did a test race and crossed the line in 5th gear, posting a time of 9.62. Even though I can shave off at least a hundredth of a second with some practice, I don’t think I need to use 5th gear in this race.
After a few test runs I found a final drive value that allows me to end the race in 4th gear. I also adjusted the 1st gear in the opposite direction because I didn’t want to affect my launch.
After a few attempts I reproduced my launch from the previous race and went head-to-head with my ghost through the first 1/8 mile. I could see him accelerate a bit faster but the last gear change slowed him down while I was still in my RPM band.
The difference in minimal, but we should take into account that the M3 featured in Nitro Nation is equipped with a lightning-quick DCT transmission. Most cars take much longer to switch gears and would benefit more from this adjustment.
